TITLE： Material Director

LOCATION: Suzhou

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

Define and manage Procurement related process, KPI, performance assess;

Plan and control department budget, manage team competence development; track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness;

Force in value analysis, planning and availability studies, cost reduction programs, support on development of supply chain strategy;

Drive lead-times on all commodities to be 5-week maximum by working with the Global Supply Chain Management Team;

Co-manage the Sales & Operation process to match projected demand with supply, and act as a check and balance to the commercial team that the business does not take irresponsible risks;

Managing the order process with cross-function team, coordinate with operation teams to support sales team to fulfill the customer request on lead-time; determine priorities to match available supply achieve established customer contract obligations and operational goals;

Execute planning and purchasing strategies; manage the Purchasing function to ensure that all Purchase Orders are released and goods received on a timely manner; determine quantity and timing of deliveries; review on a weekly basis with all buyers the status of their ERP action messages;

Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand;

Managing inventory level turnover rate, inventory control to minimize material inventory risk, specially for E&O material;

Ensure effective site procurement execution according to SCM strategy and activities, providing information input for SCM supplier management;

Follow with SCM team for supplier performance improvement. Lead team coordinate and cooperate with SCM team for supplier management;

Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms;

Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation;

Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power;

Assess, manage and mitigate risks;

Utilize rapid replenishment techniques like Kanban.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

Advanced analytic methods and manufacturing technology experience

Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Language skill: fluent English in speaking and writing 

At least 7 years work experience in material management or closely related field

APICS certification is a positive.

Profound and hands-on SAP or JDE knowledge and proficiency.

Strong working knowledge of automated material management system

Strong communication and team leadership abilities

Demonstrated success in profitably growing and transforming a business.

Must have demonstrated effective influence with key leaders within a matrixed organization.

Competencies in build to stock, configure to order, and engineer to order environments.

Project management skills.

Strong evaluation, analytical capabilities required and data driven.

Computer literate.
